  • Which schools offer Tiger Time?
    Tiger Time will be offered at all four Princeton elementary schools: Community Park Johnson Park Littlebrook Riverside Students will remain in their home school building (no bussing is required) and will be grouped with peers from their school. Each site will have a team of trained mentors, certified staff, and a dedicated site supervisor to ensure a safe, engaging, and familiar environment for your child.
  • How is Tiger Time different from past after-school programs?
    Tiger Time is designed from the ground up specifically for Princeton Public Schools with a focus on trusted relationships and a calm, consistent after-school environment. The program is staffed by many PPS educators who already know the school culture and many of the kids, as well as dedicated and qualified mentors from the community, surrounding area, and local colleges. Our goal is create a space where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to stay after school.
  • What activities will my child be doing at Tiger Time?
    Tiger Time will offer a mix of structured and flexible programming designed to help students unwind, connect, and explore. Each afternoon includes time for snack and conversation, outdoor or indoor play, and hands-on activities. Most importantly, kids will be supported by trusted adult mentors in a familiar school setting.
  • What if my child is absent or doesn’t attend on a scheduled day?
    If your child does not attend school on a particular day, there is no need to notify Tiger Time of their absence. They will be included on the absentee list we receive from the school.   • What paperwork is required before my child can attend?
    All families must complete a set of required Tiger Time policies and medical forms before enrollment is finalized. These include emergency contact info, medical authorization, and behavior agreements. To speed up registration on June 29, we strongly recommend reviewing the required policies ahead of time: Review Tiger Time Policies After registering, several medical forms are still required. Reminders will be sent to families. If these forms are not completed by August 22, we will need to offer your spot to a family on the waitlist.
  • What should I do if I have a complaint about my specific Tiger Time site or if my child has an issue at Tiger Time?
    If you need to contact Tiger Time regarding an issue, concern, or complaint, please start with the Site Supervisors at that location.   • What do I do if I need financial assistance?
    Tiger Time accepts assistance through the New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Visit https://childcareconnection-nj.org/families/financial-assistance/nj-cares-for-kids for more information or email ben@tigertime.asp.
  • What are the program hours?
    Tiger Time operates Monday through Friday, from school dismissal until 6:00 PM. This includes early dismissal days and most scheduled half-days throughout the school year. Parents can choose a schedule that fits their needs: full-time (5 days per week) or part-time (2-3 days per week). The program begins immediately after the school day ends, and staff are on-site and ready to supervise and engage students as they transition from the classroom into a structured and fun afternoon environment.
  • What happens if I pick my child up late?
    Tiger Time ends promptly at 6pm. If your child is picked up after that time, a late pick-up fee of $25 for the first 15 minutes, plus $1 per minute thereafter, will be applied to your account. Repeated late pickups may result in removal from the program. Please understand that late pickups put a significant burden on our staff. If you’re running late unexpectedly, please call the site phone number to notify staff.
  • Can you tell me more about your full day program?
    Tiger Time is open for families on several non-school days from 8:00am-6:00pm: •Tuesday, September 23 - Rosh Hoshana •Thursday, October 2 - Yom Kippur •Monday, October 20 - Diwali •Thursday, November 6 & Friday, November 7 - NJEA Break •Friday, February 13 - Designated Snow Day •Tuesday, February 17 - Lunar New Year •Friday, March 20 - Eid al-Fitr Monday, •March 30 through Friday, April 3 - Spring Break •Friday, May 22 - Designated Snow Day •Tuesday, May 26 - Designated Snow Day Registration for full days is separate from monthly registration. The fee to attend Tiger Time on a non-school day is $120 per day. Families must register for a full day at least two weeks in advance to secure their spot.
  • When does registration open?
    Registration for Tiger Time opens on Sunday, June 29 at 10am. Enrollment is first-come, first-serve and spots are limited at each elementary school site. Once capacity is reached, a waitlist will be created, and families on the waitlist will be contacted if space becomes available. We strongly recommend being ready to register right at 10am, as demand is expected to be high.
  • Can you walk me through the registration process?
  • Are there any additional fees?
    Yes. At the time of registration, first month's payment, a $100 non-refundable registration fee, and a $75 materials fee are due for each registrant.
  • How do payments work?
    Tuition is due on the first of each month via ACH or credit card. You will put this information on file when you register. If a payment bounces, a $25 late fee applies after the 5th of the month.
  • Can I sign up for just one day per week?
    Families who want to attend Tiger Time one day per week of sporadically may sign up for the drop-in option. Drop-ins families pay the registration and materials fees at the time of registration, but won't pay a monthly payment. Instead they will be charged a $75 drop-in fee for any day they attend. It will be charged after the fact. The $75 fee accounts for the fact that drop-in students must be rostered daily and supervision must be on hand.
